Pilates Classes
Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasizes developing your body’s core strength, flexibility, and awareness. Many people consider Pilates classes “real world fitness” because it focuses on the core muscle groups you use every day - the deep internal muscles of your abdomen and back.
The first thing you'll notice about our Pilates classes is that we emphasize quality over quantity. We focus on doing exercises that have meaningful impact slowly and correctly. What looks like an easy workout is in fact, an invigorating, challenging, but safe workout that produces significant results.
Even though Pilates has been around since the 1920’s people still tend to think of it as one of those "new fitness fads" which it certainly is not.
We have one of the largest schedules of Pilates classes in the area and all types of people take Pilates classes:
- Runners use it for strength training
- Doctor recommend it for patient rehab
- Women use it so they can avoid the typical "gym" workout
- Yoga students use it to increase their core strength
- Sports athletes use it increase their core strength
- Stay-at-home mom's use it to gain strength without bulk
- People with back pain use it for a safe workout
Pilates helps you become more aware of your body and the simple things you may be doing everyday that are hurting your overall fitness.
