Mat Pilates Classes
Mat classes follow a set of flowing choreography and may emphasize standing, one-leg exercises that strengthen the powerhouse (abdominals) and hip muscles, increase spine and hip flexibility, and improve balance. This multi-purpose new state-of-the-art technology offers maximum power and versatility in treating a range of skin types of problems.
Pilates on the Reformer
The reformer is an extremely versatile piece of equipment invented by Joseph Pilates which provides structure, support and resistance for students. You will focus on the core muscles (ie. abdominals, back and buttocks), but the workout is full body. Your instructor will have the opportunity to customize each session to your needs.
Injury or limited range of motion? The reformer's many attachments increase the range of modifications that can be made to the pilates exercises. This capability, combined with the support afforded by the resistance the machine provides, allows people with limited range of movement or injuries to safely do modified exercises. Endurance athletes with a history of pulled muscles or taking time off from weight- bearing exercise can also highly benefit from pilates reformer sessions.
